Job Responsibilities

  • Clear and proactive communication is critical to the success of this position
  • Oversee and direct commercial and residential construction projects from conception to completion
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review work progress on daily basis with regular reporting to management
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

Job Requirements

  • Four (4)-year degree in an accredited construction-related curriculum, construction management, architecture, or engineering
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Proven work experience in construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products; construction details; and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Expertise in all facets of the construction process
  • Firm understanding of project management, estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, negotiation, field supervision, and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, and to organize necessary resources (people, materials, equipment, tools, and time) to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Procurement andSupply Logistics experience preferred
  • Bid packaging experience preferred
  • Commercial and residential estimating experience preferred
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Ability to calmly and professionally resolve or escalate issues with clients, trade partners, and other third parties in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with software such asOffice 365, Microsoft Project, Procore, and other web-based construction project management solutions.
  • Excellent time and project management skills
